Chapter 6 Analysis

Lenina is leaning towards the Savage Reservation with Bernard over the North Pole with Benito Hoover. Henry explains to Lenina that Bernard is as unruly as a rhino. Bernard on their date constantly says no to the fun Lenina wants to do, reject the soma, and tries to deny the offer of intercourse. He eventually falls on all three fronts and gives in to her demands. After concluding the date, Marx goes to talk to the Director to see if he could be granted the chance to visit the Savage Reservation with Lenina. The Director invokes a surprising anecdote as he goes into detail of his experience at the same place and how he became separate and lost Linda a Beta Minus women he had been banging. He mentions the storm which pulled them apart, after revealing this his next emotions are simply rage as he yells at Bernard, who in turn takes this as a symbol of pride to wear upon his chest in front of his friend Helmholtz.
